NIS2 training for Management

Understand your responsibilities, at your own pace.

Why leadership needs this training

Under NIS2, cybersecurity is no longer just an IT topic. For essential and important entities, it has become a responsibility of the management. Directors and senior leaders are expected to understand the cyber risk their organisation faces, oversee and approve security measures, and stay accountable for the outcome.

That’s a lot to take on, especially when security isn’t necessarily their background. This online eLearning offers them exactly an introduction with more information on their role, their obligations, and what accountability under NIS2 looks like in practice.

What the eLearning covers.

This eLearnings consists of two modules of roughly 75 minutes.

Module 1. NIS2 (45 min)

  • Scope of the directive, core obligations, and what changed
  • The four obligation domains: risk management, incident handling, business continuity, and supply chain security
  • Notification deadlines and what “being informed” means
  • Enforcement powers: binding instructions, temporary management bans, and personal fines

Module 2. The 4 decisions that are yours. (30 min)

  • The difference between delegating and governing: what management can’t hand off
  • Oversight and approval: the questions every board should be able to answer about its own security posture
  • Resources and budget decisions
  • Security culture & incident resilience

Each module opens with a recognisable governance scenario and mixes short video instruction from subject experts with interactive exercises that give immediate feedback. Every participant completes the eLearning at their own pace and receives an individual certificate of participation on completion, proof that your leadership has met its training obligation under NIS2.

Want to test under pressure?
Add a live simulation.

Knowledge is a good start, but if you want a real challenge, we can add a live simulation to see how the team holds up under pressure. We offer a 60-minute live simulation where your leadership team navigates a realistic cyber incident together. They work through a series of decisions with incomplete information and a ticking clock. The consequences of each choice only come out in the debrief.
This step is entirely optional and only makes sense once your team has completed the two eLearning modules. We’re happy to talk you through it once your leadership team is ready.

Our approach

Our eLearnings are all created in-house with real people and based on real experience. To make the eLearning as relevant as possible, we tailor it to your sector, risks and day-to-day reality.

Step 1

Kick-off.

We align on participant profiles, organisational context and your preferred platform. You can opt to use the CRANIUM Campus’ learning platform or we can create a SCORM file you can upload in your own LMS. There is no price difference either way.

Step 2

Development.

We build the module content around scenarios from your own organisation, then run it past an internal specialist under a four-eyes review. This is how we guarantee quality and accuracy.

Step 3

Delivery.

We run a short technical check to make sure everything runs smoothly in your chosen environment after which the eLearning goes live. The participant accounts are activated and progress is tracked automatically.

Step 4

Follow up.

You receive a structured feedback report based on completion data and participant input, plus a meeting to discuss next steps. We can also add-on the live simulation after full completion of the eLearning.

Prefer a live session instead of an eLearning?

We also offer this training as an in-person or online executive session, including a live tabletop simulation. Check out the live awareness session if that fits your team better.

The best of both worlds, in one session.

NIS2 sits at the crossroads of legal obligation and technical know-how. That’s why this session draws on the combined field experience of CRANIUM, specialised in privacy, digital law, and data governance, and Cingulum, specialised in cybersecurity and information security.

Who trains your leadership team.

Throughout the training, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with our expert trainers.

The two modules together take roughly 75 minutes. Because it’s fully self-paced, each participant works through it individually, on their own schedule. There’s no need to find a common slot for a busy leadership team.

Yes. We can deliver the eLearning through CRANIUM Campus’s own learning platform, or hand it over as a SCORM file for your existing LMS. Both options come at the same cost, we just run a short technical check beforehand to make sure everything displays correctly in your chosen environment.

Yes, everyone who attends receives a certificate of participation, which you can use to demonstrate that your management team has met its NIS2 training obligation.

We work with a fixed price per project, covering full preparation, tailored development, platform access or SCORM delivery, and individual certificates for all participants. The exact price depends on your organisation’s size and the level of tailoring involved. Get in touch and we’ll put together a tailored proposal.

You can add it at any point after your team completes the two modules. Many organisations prefer to see how the eLearning goes and then decide.

That’s a great first conversation to have before booking anything. Get in touch and we’ll help you work out where you stand, together with our colleagues from CRANIUM.

Get on top of NIS2 at your own pace

You don’t need your leadership team to become security experts. They need to know their role, their risks, and how to act in case of a security emergency. That’s what this eLearning delivers, and it’s what CRANIUM Campus does best: turning these complex obligations into practical, applicable knowledge.
